Locality North foothills of San Gabriel Mountains, Elizabeth Lake Road, 9.7 miles by road south-southwest of junction with Johnson Road, vicinity of Bee Canyon. Elevation about 1800 feet.
HabitatFoothills. Steep slope of ravine on red sandstone, gravelly-loam soil, just southeast of road.; Southwestern Mojave Desert, open chapparal with grazing history, with shrubs, including Ephedra spp., Solanum xanti, Purshia tridentata.; Occasional multi-stemmed suffrutescent perennial about 1 meter tall; previous season's inflorescences dried at stem tips; depth of leaf lobing variable; calyx densely soft pubescent.
