Notes | Occurrence Remarks: Coll previously at same site as stems/pods in winter 98; only observed on undisturbed soils, possible loss to mining? Fruits suggest varietal diff from NV hemigyrus, other local Astragalus include A. layneae, A. coccineus, A. casei. A. nuttallianus and A. lentiginosus fremontii.; Annual, rarely biennial, fls purple w/ white patch on reflexed banner, pods succulent-oval at first, later bowed, woody and sulcate; local, in swarms, most pls weak-fl sterile annuals, otherwise vigorously fruiting; on steep E and W-facing rcky limestone talus slopes with sparse low shrub cover.; |
