population biologyCommon scattered tree 4 m tall with both flowers and fruits. Flws dull cream-green, tepals inrolled over pistil, filaments swollen-clavate hooded with tiny yellow anthers. Leaves firm, with sharp spine; stems pithy fibrous within.
