Locality Palomar Mountain, Cleveland National Forest. Approximately 100 meters north of old green cabin south of peak 5696 m.
Elevation 1638 m
HabitatMixed montane forest with open habitat near buckwheat scrub. Slope ca. 30 degrees; soils clay-loam; orientation north-east; in part sun. Associated plants: Abies concolor, Cupressus forbesii, Quercus kelloggii, Quercus chrysolepis. Probably a planted specimen, but naturalized and reseeding.
