HabitatOn sandy and gravelly 20 to 40 degree slopes. Xeric to moderately xeric SE, E and NE aspect. Full sun. Coastal Sage community with Eriogonum dominant, then, Quercus sp. (shrub) and some Ceanothus, Baccharus sarathroides, Salvia apiana and Malosma present.

macromorphologyAnnual forb to 36 in. but often less. Single stem from common base. Leaves medium to dark green. Flowers wine purple color with white interior markings.
