Locality Private property on Yucca road in Sherilton Valley. Cuyamaca Rancho State park and Cleveland National Forest surround Sherilton Valley. Plants in parking area near rose garden.

HabitatOpen area in chaparral. Slight slope facing southwest. Soil is decomposed granite with little mulch or loam; somewhat moist during rainy season, baking during dry season. Wind scoured. Excellent drainage.
