Locality 8900 moraine dammed Red Lake. In cleft between 9984 Red Mt. N-NW and 9423 granite hill SE; headwaters Tamarack Creek; 5 map miles SE of Huntington Lake. Lake in granite but upper half Red Mt. basalt., Pinus murrayana around lake, P. monticola on 9423 and to basalt contact on Red Mt., Junipers glaciated granite cliffs to N, Populus tremuloides thickets among basalt blocks S-SW upper slopes Red Mt.
