HabitatA small drainage in a burnt forest with a few stands of Pinus jeffreyi and Juniperus occidentalis var. austromontana and with Cercocarpus ledifolius, Artemisia tridentata, Penstemon grinnellii, Argemone munita, Malacothamnus fremontii, Astragalus douglasii, Penstemon labrosus, Mentzelia laevicaulis, Tricostema micranthum, Monardella linioides, Nicotiana attenuata, Eriogonum parishii, and Gayophytum diffusum ssp. parviflorum.
