HabitatIn sand dunes near an alkali sink with many spring annuals. Associated with Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Hesperocallis undulata, Chaenactis stevioides, Lotus strigosus, Schismus barbatus, Palafoxia arida, Malacothrix glabrata, Cryptantha micrantha, Pleuraphis rigida, Mentzelia albicaulis, Streptanthella longirostris, Abronia villosa, Oenothera deltoides, Lupinus concinnus, Amsinckia tessellata, Eriastrum harwoodii, and Astragalus insularis var. harwoodii.
