HabitatA semi-shady area with desiccating pools of water with an overstory of Quercus kelloggii, Juniperus occidentalis ssp. australis, Amelanchier utahensis, and Cercocarpus ledifolius, and also associated with Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Arctostaphylos patula, Cordylanthus nevinii, Achillea millefolium, Gayophytum diffusum ssp. parviflorum, Psudognaphalium palustre, Eleocharis macrostachya, Epilobium ciliatum, Cryptantha echinella, Machaeranthera canescence, Lactuca serriola, Lotus unifoliatus, and Navarretia peninsularis.
