HabitatA fairly open sunny rocky summit with an over story of Juniperus occidentalis ssp. australis, Pinus monophylla, and Cercocarpus ledifolius and with an understory of Artemisia tridentata, Arctostaphylos patula, Salvia pachyphylla, Tetradymia canescens, Eriogonum wrightii var. subscaposum, Erigeron aphanactis var. congestus, Eriogonum umbellatum var. munzii, Elymus elymoides, Bouteloua gracilis, Phacelia hastata, Nicotiana attenuata, Bromus tectorum, Monardella linoides, Arabis parishii, and Castilleja cinerea.
