HabitatW-facing 10-degree open sagebrush scrub on coarse gravelly carbonate soil. With Artemisia tridentata, Eriogonum wrightii, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Tetradymia canescens, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Eriodyction trichocalyx, Stipa pinetorum, Elymus, Chrysothamnus, and occasional Pinus ponderosa.
