|Notes||Tree 60 feet tall, trunk diameter 18 inches, locall common, roots wide-spreading, upper crowns of many trees of this species dying here. In an open forest on a steep northwest-facing slope (apparently the preferred aspect for this species in this area) in rocky loam amongst granitic or metamorphic boulders (Sur-Junipero complex; loamy-skeletal or coarse-loamy, mixed, superactive, mesic, Pahcic to Pachic-Ultic Haploxerolls). With Acer macrophyllum, Arbutus menziesii, Arctostaphylos glauca, Carex globosa, Ceanothus integerrimus, Dendromecon rigida, Eriodictyon californicum, Lithocarpus densiflorus, Pinus coulteri, P. lambertiana, Polystichum imbricans, Quercus chrysolepis, Rhamnus californica, Solanum xanti, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Umbellularia californica.;|
