NotesTraveled SSW from this gate a few miles, running parallel with Camino San Rafael near top of ridge. This plant was planted along the Ridge Motorway just north where it loops around a west trending ridge then comes back too Camino San Rafael. Plants are invasive along the road and down into steep draws, along the northwest facing slopes. Area bruned in 1999. So area has burned shrubs still noticeable. Other planted plants are: Gazania linearis, Mimulus aurantiacus puniceus and Spartium junceum? Native species growing on slope and down in drainage are: Rhus integrifolia, R. ovata, Prunus ilicifolia, Sambucus mexicana, Malosma laurina, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Ribes aureum, R. speciosum, Mimulus aurantiacus, Lonicera subspicata denudata, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Acourtia microcephala, Lotus scoparius, Eriogonum fasciculatum foliolosum, E. elongatum, Hazardia squarrosa grindelioides, Brickellia californica, Yucca whipplei, Cercocarpus betuloides, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Marah macrocarpus, Malacothrix saxatilis tenuifolia and Melica imperfecta. Species growing along or near road are: Baccharis salicifolia, Heterotheca grandiflora, Nicotiana glauca, Lupinus bicolor, L. truncatus, Bromus madritensis rubens, Schismus barbatus, Vulpia myuros, Eucrypta chrysanthemifolia, Amsinckia menziesii intermedia, Erodium cicutarium, Centaurea melitensis, Senecio vulgaris, Claytonia perfoliata, Silene gallica, Filago gallica, Hypochaeris glabra, Gnaphalium microcephalum, Hirschfeldia incana and Stellaria media. Shrub has dark blue flowers, about 4 feet tall.;
