Locality Glass Mountain Region: N edge of Long Valley: Conspicuous solitary rhyodacite dome arising from valley floor, appx. 4mi. N of Benton Crossing / Owens River.

HabitatVolcanic cone rising 500 ft. above valley floor. Soft sandy pumice soil with rhyodacite outcrops. Grazed / disturbed scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Grayia spinosa, Prunus andersonii, Bromus tectorum, Hesperostipa comata, Leymus cinereus, Phacelia bicolor and a few scattered Juniperus and Pinus monophylla.
