HabitatSilty moist areas around spring derived from pumice alluvium in open Pinus jeffryi / Populus tremuloides woodland. Xeric uplands with Artemesia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Linanthus nuttalii, Cercocarpus. Mesic areas around stream w/ Betula occidentalis, Rosa woodsii, Equisetum, Smilacina stellata, Pinus contorta.
