Locality N edge of Long Valley: Conspicuous solitary rhyodacite dome arising from valley floor, appx. 4mi. N of Benton Crossing / Owens River.
Elevation 2256m
HabitatVolcanic cone rising 500 ft. above valley floor. Soft sandy pumice soil with rhyodacite outcrops. Grazed / disturbed scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Grayia spinosa, Prunus andersonii, Linanthus pungens, Bromus tectorum, Hesperostipa comata, Phlox stansburyi, and a few scattered Junipers and Pinyons. Herb layer with Layia glandulosa, Chaenactis douglasii, Phacelia bicolor, Plagiobothrys kingii.
