Habitat15 deg SE-facing slope of granitic soil and scattered outcrops. Open grazed Artemisia tridentata scrub with occasional Pinus monophylla, Purshia tridentata, Ephedra viridis, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Tetradymia axillaris, Grayia spinosa, Hesperostipa comata, Achnatherum hymenoides.
