HabitatMoist shady streamside in Populus tremuloides woodland. Uplands of dry Artemisia tridentata / Purshia tridentata scrub on granitic soil with granite outcrops. With Rosa woodsii, Pinus monophylla, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Ribes cereum, Salix lutea, Mimulus primuloides, Sphenosciadium, Achillea millefolium, Stellaria, Taraxicum, Dodecatheon.
