HabitatActively grazed banks and meadow above meanders of river. Soft fine pumice soil, becoming alkaline. Streambanks of dense thatch of Carex nebrascensis, Juncus balticus, Hordeum spp., Glaux maritima, Cirsium scariosum, Iris missouriensis, Sisyrinchium halophilum. Saltgrass meadows dominated by Distichlis spicata, Pyrrocoma lanceolata.
