Habitat | Low rolling hills and gentle alluvial valleys at base steep northern escarpment of Sierra Pelona ridge. Mostly alluvial deposits of gravels derived from Pelona schist, a few scattered schist outcrops. Low open scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Juniperus californicus, Encelia actoni, Lycium cooperi, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Quercus john-tuckeri, Salazaria mexicana, Ericameria linearifolia, Yucca whipplei, and scattered Yucca brevifolia; grading into grassland dominated by Bromus tectorum, Schismus barbatus, and Erodium cicutarium. | ||||||
