HabitatSteep, northerly slopes with loose sandy loam derived from decomposed granite, humus rich in many areas. Dense woodland of Quercus chrysolepis, Quercus kelloggii,and Pseudotsuga macrocarpa, with open understory of Bromus tectorum, Rhamnus tomentellus, Ribes roezlii, Elymus glaucus, and Erysimum capitatum.
