Locality Ball Flat: 1500 m due N of Jackson Lake, between the Boulder Canyon and Mescal Creek drainages;
Elevation 1744m
HabitatScattered locally on decomposed granite substrate. Heavily disturbed site currently used for refuse disposal. A few taxa apparently introduced by the forest service (Pinus coulteri, Cupressus arizonica, Calocedrus decurrens). Native vegetation appears to have been pinyon woodland (Pinus monophylla) and desert transition chaparral (Quercus john-tuckeri, Ceanothus greggii vestitus, Fremontodendron californicum, Yucca whipplei, Artemesia tridentata, Cercocarpus betuloides, Stipa speciosa, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Ericameria linearifolia, Eridictyon trichocalyx, Eriastrum densifolium, etc.
