Locality Topa Topa Mountains, southern flank of Tar Creek, ca 1 air mile SE of confluence with Sespe Canyon, along an old dirt road leading down to Sespe Canyon off of Squaw Flat Road, about the base of hill 2782 at the boundary of Sespe Condor Sanctuary.

HabitatExtensive area of bedded sandstones, highly deformed and forming steep slopes with cliff-like outcrops. Soils at collection site weathering to reddish clay loam. Scrub vegetation of Adenostoma, fasciculatum, Ceanothus cuneatus, Cercocarpus betuloides, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Salvia mellifera, Keckiella cordifolia, Fraxinus dipetala, etc.
