NotesMixed with Lemna minor or L. turionifera; Lemna minuscula and L. gibba also reported from this area. Marsh also contains Eichhornia crassipes.Note: Lemna paucicostata Hegelm. and L. perpusilla Thompson not Torrey have been used for this species. True L. perpusilla Torrey is found in eastern North America-- it does not occur in California. The winged root sheath and prominent papules (apical and nodal) clearly distinguish L. aequinoctialis from other sp. of Lemna in this collection.;
