NotesChaparral: Yucca whipplei, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Haplopappus linearfolius, Chrysothamnus nearby; Salvia columbariae, Cryptantha intermedia, Camissonia bistorta, Erodium cicutarium, Avena barbata (growing amoung the leaves of the plant), Bromus rubens (growing under the plant). B. tectorum in intermediate surroundings. Other A. munita can be seen from the spot but they are fairly scattered. A many-stemmed clump 9 dm tall and 1mm long .6m wide. The stems and branchlets are broken open in longitudinal slits, the yellow exudate drying to a black tarlike substance.;
