NotesOld tree, 40 feet tall. No cones. Scattered on very steep slopes at the hot dry head of Nine Mile Canyon in the lower levels of the pinyon woodland. Growing in shattered metamorphic and granite rock. Probably the approximate transmontane northeastern limits for the tree.;
