Locality Hutchinson Meadow Area, junction of Piute and French Canyons (immediately west of 12245' Pilot Knob), tributary of south fork of San Joaquin River, 10 map miles east of Florence Lake; crests north and south 12100-12500'., This Senecio east and above and just out of sight of E. Pinnacles Creek ca. 1 1/4 map miles west of Hutchinson Meadows.
Elevation 3171m
HabitatLodgepole forest up both canyons to 10400' and up both side walls in favored places to 10400' or above; subalpine forest mostly krumholtz and spotty to 11000'-specimens rare above that. Juniper krumholtz patches and large perennial lists; lodgepole forest sev. 100' below; in rocks.
