NotesLodgepole forest French canyon up to ca. 10,400 ; subalpine forest to 11,000 (even 11,200 ) on favored rocky slopes occas. Pinus albicaulis krumholtz to 11,200 -rare specimens to 12,000 Basin mostly alpine with extensive areas herbaceous alpine cover. This small Carex in margin of small pond just below 11,000 Moon Lake- the next to the lowest lake on lowest lake bench on S side of the basin. Subalpine forest up slopes both N and S for short distance.;
