Locality Great headwaters basin of South Fork of San Joaquin River (Goddard Canyon) west of 13568 Mt. Goddard.
Elevation 3171m
HabitatGradual slope on west side of basin rising from ca. 10640 to 10800 at the foot of great granite jumble rising abruptly to the 11400 lake above in saddle in the Le Conte divide. Rill emerges from the granite jumble and drops down the gradual slope through meadows and occasional rocky terraces. This Gentian in a hair grass terrace along the rill at ca. 10750 .
