Notes | Lodgepole forest Piute Canyon up to 10,400-10,600 ; subalpine forest to 10,800 (even 11,200 on few favored rocky slopes); Occas. Pinus albicaulis krumholtz to 11,200 , rare specimens to 11,600 ; Basin mostly above 11,000 and alpine with extensive areas herbaceous alpine cover. This yellow-green multiple headed Carex among rocks along Desolation Creek at ca. 11,000 where it breaks to drop over steeper slope toward Golden Trout Lake ca. 1/2 mile SW. Salix, Ledum, Aquilegia, Sphenosciadium, etc.; | ||||
