HabitatLodgepole forest French Canyon up to ca. 10400 ; subalpine forest to 11000 (even 11200 ) on favored rocky slopes; occasional Pinus albicaulis krumholtz to 11200 - rare specimens to 12000 ; basin mostly alpine with extensive areas herbaceous alpine cover.

NotesThis Epilobium plentiful though mostly vegetative in Salix-- one set in rock crevice flowering-- on S-facing slope W of pond W of 10,998 Moon Lake on lowest lake bench on S side of the Basin. Numerous herbs, scattered P. albicaulis, Salix thickets along creek and seepages.;
