Locality Pipes Canyon, at the bottom of the very steep grade near the head of the canyon, approximately 2.75 air miles southeast of Onyx Peak.

HabitatPost burn area with a few remaining Pinus monophylla and Yucca brevifolia and with Juniperus grandis, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Arctostaphyllos patula, Quercus chrysolepis, Q. cornelius-mulleri, Eriodiction trichocalyx, Artemisia tridentata, A. leudoviciana, Yucca schidigera, Lupinus excubitus, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Linanthus pungens, Salvia pachyphylla, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Castilleja chromosa and tens of thousands of blooming annual wildflowers blanketing burnt slopes. Scattered/common on rocky gravely slopes and benches.
