Locality Castle Mountains National Monument: Northwest foot of Castle Mountains, northeast of Barnwell, south of I-15, ~1.1 mile southwest of CA-NV state line. Southeast of NN 149 and Stagecoach Well, northwest of Hart Peak.
Elevation 1359m
HabitatRocky canyon draining north into large wash. Rocky slopes above canyon bottom. Slope 8-25 degrees, facing west to northwest. Clay and gravel soil, 7.5 YR 3/2 dark brown. Miocene welded rhyolite tuff (tuff of Juan). Joshua Tree woodland. Frequent on rocky west-facing slope.
