Locality West end of the main crest; from the Pacific Crest Trail (from the south) along road (7N23) pass the second Pacific Crest Trail that exits off north of the road., Finish near the NW corner of section 3 and started at the west end of section 12, west of Bear Gulch Camp. About a 4 mile hike from east to west (This for the Angeles National Forest road surveys).

HabitatRounded high mountain, with rolling oaks, pine and grass, (savanna-like) areas. Thicker chaparral on south slopes below and oak woodland forest on some north slopes. Growing in open sunny area, in patches.
