Locality Santa Rosa Mountains south-southwest of Palm Desert. Along Carrizo Road just north of Highway 74.

HabitatOpen flat between boulder piles, crossed by sandy wash. 12 degree slope, facing south. Mesozoic quartz diorite. Sand and gravel soil, 10 YR 3/2 very dark grayish brown. Creosote bush - juniper scrub on rolling rocky hills. Frequent near wash.
