|Locality||Garcia Mountain: Off Forest Service Road 30S05.2, Down Trout Creek to trail that climbs up over a saddle and drops down into another tributary of Trout Creek. Stopped at Buckeye Campsite., Wilderness boundary starts with trail leaving Trout Creek to climb the saddle. Started near 35.25785N 120.39436W. Ended at camp, near 35.24658N 120.34365W.|
|Habitat||Drought year, only pools in deeper depressions. Not much running water at this site. Chaparral slopes, oak forest here and there. And some places within canyon bottom were wide, sandy benches, some very sunny. Open sunny chaparral slopes up and over the saddle. The camp site was a sloping bench, very shady with Quercus agrifolia, Platanus racemosa, Frangula californica, Toxicodendron diversilobum, large Woodwardia fimbriata at small spring. Other vascular plants associated with the creek bottom or chaparral slopes include: Quercus douglasii, Q. lobata, Q. berberidifolia, Salix lasiolepis, Umbellularia californica, Prunus ilicifolia, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Arctostaphylos glauca, Artemisia californica, Cercocarpus betuloides, Hesperoyucca whipplei, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Eriodictyon tomentosum, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Erigeron foliosus, Rhamnus ilicifolia, Rhus aromatica, Amorpha californica, Holodiscus discolor, Equisetum telmateia braunii, Lupinus latifolius, Asclepias fascicularis and Rupertia physodes. Hot, dry, sunny chaparral slope, near saddle.|
