|Locality||Fossil Ridge, outer south face: In gully northwest of South Gate.|
|Habitat||A slip has occurred which exposes the soft rock strata. The shrubs grow on and about the slide; the soil is sandy. This gully has not been burned for many years although the fire has approached closely on both sides. In fact one or two shrubs on the ridge which bounds the gully have been killed by fire.|
|Notes||Shrubs in gully as much as 15 feet high; of all ages from very old ones to those a few years old; leaves variable in color and size.;|
