Locality Los Angeles Basin: Verdugo Mountains Region: Northwest side: Low hill between La Tuna Canyon Road and Sunland Blvd. enter at dead end street at corner of Tuxford St. and Ledge Ave just north of La Tuna Canyon Road in city of Sun Valley, just west of the mouth of McDonald Creek.

HabitatWest side of La Tuna Canyon, on low open hilltop, and sides of hills. Associated with: Malosma laurina is the dominant shrub on the hillside with a lot of open grassy areas between, shrubs mixed into this area area; Eriogonum fasciculatum, Lotus scoparius, Artemisia californica, Rhamnus crocea, annuals in this grassy area area; Bromus diandrus (the dominant grass), Camissonia californica, Mirabilis californica, Dichelostemma capitatum, Lupinus truncatus, L. hirsutissimus, Phacelia minor, Cryptantha sp., Brassica sp., Schismus sp., and Eriodium cicutarium.
