HabitatArea of dense chaparral with abundant Arctostaphylos, Quercus cornelius-mulleri and some Cercocarpus betuloides, some Pinus jeffreyi, Quercus wislizenii and Ceanothus spp. In these Ceanothuses some of the oldest bark appears golden yellow.
