Locality Mojave Desert; North Mojave Desert region: southwest end of the Lava Mountains, north of Red Mountains, east of Trona Road. Side road off Steam Well Road (RM1444) to Skilling Well. Road ends near mines. General collecting along the lower ridge that climbs toward Klinker Mtn. Than returned down a small draw to to the west of theis ridge. Gentle slopes at base, steeper the farther you climb, with some volanic outcrops. Near 35.39090N, 117.56767W to 35.39745N, 117.56570W.

HabitatDry, sparse vegetation of: Larrea tridentata, Ambrosia dumosa, Ericameria cooperi, Acamptopappus sphaerocephalus hirtellus, Atriplex polycarpa, Grayia spinosa, Ephedra sp., Eriogonum fasciculatum polifolium, Krascheninnikovia lanata, Salazaria mexicana, Hymenoclea salsola and Xylorhiza tortifolia.
