Associated with; Ageratina adenophora, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Typha sp., Salix lasiolepis, Sonchus oleraceus, Eriogonum elongatum, Mimulus aurantiacus, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Galium angustifolium, and Brickellia californica. With the annual grass Vulpia myuros at the edge of the road. Growing in wet mud.
