Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. Plumas National Forest; near La Porte Road 1.5 km west of American House; on broad ridge top between Slate Creek and Lost Creek.

HabitatDisturbed area, somehat open in mixed conifer forest (white fir, sugar pine, black oak, incense cedar, Douglas-fir; bush chinquapin, green-leaf manzanita, bracken). Plants forming a small patch about 3 m in diameter; new ray flowers bright white, aging light purple; not common.
