Locality Southern Sierra Nevada Foothills. Along small cold side channel along the east edge of Kern River, 2.6 km north of the county line. In old floodplain.

HabitatFoothills. At bases of rocks in sand of old floodplain, away from the river. Plants with numerous stems from buried caudex; leaves with crenate/crinkled edges; flowers purple; sepals purplish-green, swept back.
