Locality High North Coast Ranges. Slope above Road 28N10, 1.1 km northeast of Stuart Gap. Upper minor side drainage into South Fork Beegum Creek.

HabitatUpper minor side drainage into [creek]. Open southeast-facing slope in mixed conifer forest (Ponderosa pine, incense cedar, sugar pine, Douglas-fir, canyon live oak, mountain white-thorn). Moderate slope, serpentine substrate, rocky soil; open partly because of past logging, fair regeneration (Ponderosa pine) present. Plants forming small clumps; common here.
