Locality Southern High Sierra Nevada. Converse Basin; narrow lower end of a meadow 2.1 km (air) north-northwest of Cherry Gap.

HabitatAt moist edges of the meadow; partially shaded opening in forest of Sequoiadendron, white fir, incense cedar, Jeffrey pine, bracken. Plants forming small loose clumps; plants and inflorescences consistently small and delicate; perigynia loosely ascending, the beaks obvious.
