Locality East of Sierra Nevada. Cinnabar Canyon 0.6 km north of Hwy 270 (the main road to Bodie) and Clearwater Creek. In bottom of canyon.

HabitatOn the flats near a large raised springy area in bottom of canyon; surrounded by sagebrush, plus juniper and pinyon on the slopes. Tall old plants 1-1.6 m tall, only branched high up; inflorescences delicate; plants with heavy fragrance.
