Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. On low peak along ridge between Frenchman Hill and the northwest end of Red Mountain.
Elevation 1798 m
HabitatOn low peak along ridge. Serpentine. Very open rocky ground with scattered stunted Jeffrey pine, incense cedar, sugar pine, western white pine; huckleberry oak common. Open areas with <50% cover by Eriogonum umbellatum, Phlox diffusa, Arenaria kingii, etc. Not all, but a lot of bracts with 2-3 lobes.
