HabitatNorth-east facing slope in blue oak woodland. Plant a low tree to 30 ft tall, with many low wide-spreading branches; trunk bark light brown and shredy, smaller branches pale gray; cones fleshy, maturing very glaucous, dark blue; many galls also present.
