In hard, dry clay-shale soil with sparse Eriastrum brandegeae, aira caryophyllea, Bromus madritensis and Plantago erecta. Nearby chaparral includes Quercus berberidifolia, Garrya condonii, and Cercocarpus betuloides as well as chamise. |
