Locality About 22 air miles W of Red Bluff, vicinity of S. Fork Cottonwood Creek and Long Gulch. On E-facing slope at end of small 'finger' ridge.

HabitatOn E-facing slope at end of small 'finger' ridge, at edge of chamise chaparral with occasional Pinus sabiniana. In hard, dry clay-shale soil with sparse Eriastrum brandegeae, aira caryophyllea, Bromus madritensis and Plantago erecta. Nearby chaparral includes Quercus berberidifolia, Garrya condonii, and Cercocarpus betuloides as well as chamise.
